ORIGIN OF SCORM

SCORM stands for "Sharable Content Object Reference Model" and is a set of technical standards for online learning. SCORM has been framed by the Advanced Distributed Learning(ADL) group under direction from the US Department of Defence.

WHY USE SCORM?

SCORM is widely used by some technology giants in the industry. It has the critical momentum and is the de facto industry standard. The United States Department of Defense(DoD) has specified that all of its content must be delivered via SCORM.

BENEFITS OF SCORM

LearnGuild Content is SCORM compliant. This is a big advantage because SCORM is a really powerful tool for online learning and training. Content can be created one time and used in many different systems and situations without modification. This is called "plug-and-play" functionality and is effective within an organization and across several organizations.

Content can be created and delivered to the user:

  • more quickly

  • more robustly

  • and at a lower price
